Installation

Installation Process

Note: Please take a backup of your all Magento files and database before installing or updating any extension.

Download the extension file:
  1. Download the Product Questions extension .ZIP file from solwininfotech.com using your Solwin Infotech website account.
  2. Extract the .ZIP file which contains another .ZIP files.
  3. If you have purchased the extension for the Community Edition, then you will see the extension .ZIP file for Magento 2.1.x, Magento 2.2.x, Magento 2.3.x, and Magento 2.4.x version.
    If you have purchased the extension for the Enterprise Edition, then you will see the extension .ZIP file for Magento 2.1.x, Magento 2.2.x and Magento 2.3.x version.
Extension Installation

For Magento 2 Community Edition,

  1. If you are using Magento 2.1.x then you need to extract solwin-productquestions-m2-2.1.x.zip file.
    If you are using Magento 2.2.x then you need to extract solwin-productquestions-m2-2.2.x.zip file.
    If you are using Magento 2.3.x, Magento 2.4.x then you need to extract solwin-productquestions-m2.zip file.

For Magento 2 Enterprise Edition,

  1. If you are using Magento 2.1.x then you need to extract solwin-productquestions-m2-EE-2.1.x.zip file.
    If you are using Magento 2.2.x then you need to extract solwin-productquestions-m2-EE-2.2.x.zip file.
    If you are using Magento 2.3.x then you need to extract solwin-productquestions-m2-EE.zip file.

Following 2 to 6 steps are the same for Community and Enterprise edition.

  1. Copy the app folder and paste it into your magento ROOT directory.

  2. Run upgrade command as specified : php bin/magento setup:upgrade.
  3. Run deploy command as specified : php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy -f.
  4. Clear the cache either from the admin panel or command line php bin/magento cache:clean.
  5. Now, you can see the Solwin menu in admin panel. Please go to Solwin -> Product Questions -> Configuration and select Enable to Yes.
  6. Change/Set all other options as per your requirements and save settings.

Information

This extension for magento 2 allows customers/visitors to ask product questions and receive answers from the product view page. Customers can see the Q & A tab on product detail page and ask question for a particular product by filling form details like name, email, subject(optional) & question and it will authenticate the submission by google recaptcha. After this successful authentication, the product question will be saved in the database and an e-mail will be sent to the store owner which is already saved in the admin panel. After approved by store owner, the answer of particular question will be displayed on product view page under Q & A tab. Sometimes customers hesitate to buy products online, if they have doubts about several factors including its quality, pricing, shipping, etc. For that product Q & A is the best solution to overcome this type of customers doubts of your website. Increase store sales and makes your website more interactive and user-friendly.

How To Use

In front side, on product list page customer can see the Q & A tab. A customer can add a question by filling the form with all required fields and it will be automatically notified via email to admin.

The other customers can also answer to the question by click on Add Your Answer button.

When you click on "Add Your Answer", it will open popup for add answer to particular question. If admin set Google Captcha to Yes, reCaptch will be display as in popup.

How To Configure

Go to Solwin >> Product Questions >> Manage Q and A, Now you can see the list of product questions.

Click on edit link to view complete details of product questions

  • Product: Id of product's questions.
  • Username: Customer name.
  • Email: Customer email.
  • Is Private: Question is private or not.
  • Subject: Question subject.
  • Question: Question ask by customer.
  • Admin Answer: Enter answer of customer question.
  • Status: Active | Inactive.
  • Posted On: Display date when customer added the question.
  • Send Email Notification To Customer For Question Updation?: Yes | No.

Click on Answer to see answer of other customer.

Click on Edit to give reply to answer or edit the answer.

  • Product: Id of product's questions.

  • Answer: Answer added by customer.
  • Posted On: Display date when customer added the answer.
  • Admin Reply: Enter Reply to customer answer.

Settings

In the backend from Solwin >> Product Questions >> Configuration menu, our extension allows you to enable or disable the module in your store and provide you more configuration options for product questions.

There are some configuration options for product questions. Let's discuss all in more details.

General Settings

  • Enable Product Q&A: Yes | No.
  • Who Post Questions?: Select customer group.
  • Q&A Heading: Enter heading for Q & A.
  • Change "No Questions Found." Heading: Enter heading for "No Questions Found".
  • Change "Do you have any questions?" Heading: Enter heading for "Do you have any questions?".
  • Display Date In Frontend: Yes | No.
  • Display Subject Field In Q & A Form: Yes | No.

Google reCaptcha Key

  • Enable Google reCaptcha: Yes | No.
  • reCaptcha Theme: Dark | Light.
  • Site Key: Enter site key for google captcha.
  • Secret Key: Enter secret key for google captcha.
  • Invalid Captcha Message: Enter message for invalid captcha.

Email Setup Options

  • Send Emails To: Enter sender email address.
  • Email Sender: Select email sender.
  • Email Template For Admin: Select custom email template for admin.
  • Email Template For Customer: Select custom email template for customer.
  • Email Template For Answer Admin: Select custom email for answer admin.
  • Email Template For Answer Customer: Select custom email for answer customer.
